Yale 1958: News & Information
John F. Embersits
We have lost Jack. On Sunday, May 17, 2009, Jack was on a golf course when he had a massive heart attack and died.
As Cinda said, “This is exactly how he would want to go.” I agree with her but I wish it hadn’t been now. I think so many of us were looking forward to seeing him at the mini-reunion being planned for October 2-3 in New Haven this fall. No one in our class was more supportive of our classmates or more interested in helping us all get together. I also feel that he was the number 1 fan of the Whiffs of 1958. Oh how we will miss him.
Damn! He was one of the good guys. No! He was one of the great ones.

50th Reunion Celebration
.
Classmates
This website was designed to capture all of the information gathered for our class book and more. It will be on-line long after our 50th is over with whatever changes or additions we all choose to make.
Click here to go to our class directory. This will give you an alphabetical list of living classmates with telephone numbers, email addresses, etc. Best place to go if you want to contact someone before going to New Haven
Click here if you want to see the list of those who have not registered for the reunion. Note: this does not mean that those on the list are not coming, just that they haven’t yet registered.
Click here if you want to register for our reunion today.
Presidential Survey
You may remember that in a prior email, I invited you to answer a couple of survey questions. The results (with over 100 responses):
Prefer Obama – 69.9%
Prefer Clinton – 30.1%
Email addresses.
Over 80% of our classmates have posted their email addresses on our class directory.
Cell Phone Numbers
Less than 20% of our classmates have posted their cell phone numbers on our directory.
We will provide each classmate with a list of those cell phone numbers at the time of registration to help you contact other classmates. We will also invite you to provide your cell phone number and then give you an updated list on Friday morning at the registration desk.
Class website – Menu items on left side of home age.
Registration: There is a link at the top of our home page entitled “Register for 50th”. This will take you directly to the AYA site where you can fill in the registration form.
If money is a problem for you, call Jennifer Julier at Yale. 203.436.8014 There are funds available to help classmates with the costs of the reunion and it is handled anonymously.
Who’s Coming: This is a list updated constantly showing you who has already registered to come back for our 50th.
Class Calendar: Click here and you will see the proposed calendar for next week.
Photos and Clips: I have now added clips from the Yale-Princeton and Yale Harvard games from our senior year – we already have clips of the Olympic gold medal races of our sophomore year and the Whiffs with a recording of the Whiff song made 50 years ago.
If you have any video clips of high points in our senior year, please let me know and bring them with you to New Haven. We can show them during our reunion, or put them up on our class website, or both.
See you Wednesday in Madison at the Embersits’ house.
